 I can't fucking stand China.  There's just so much fucked up shit happening in China, and so much fucked up shit happening elsewhere as a result of China's fucked up shit.

Before the Olympics, China, in trying to show that they're all progressive and shit, publicly announced that they would allow protesters to protest in special protesting areas with one caveat--you need to apply to get a permit to protest.  Um.. yea.

Anyone who applied, though, was either harassed, or worse, jailed.  One of these ppl is Ji Sizun.  Not only was he jailed for applying, he has been given a 3-year sentence.  When asked about it, China says it was for unrelated crimes.  Of course.  That makes tons of sense.  Someone who has committed crimes punishable with jailtime is going to reveal himself to the Chinese gov't with something as SUBTLE as attempting to protest the Chinese government.  Ugh.  The same retarded gov't which deleted the paragraph, "Those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent -- know that you are on the wrong side of history."  That's right.  China cut away from Obama's speech when he started that paragraph, and then deleted it from transcripts of the address.  Sigh.

The other thing that pisses me off about China.  It's less about China, and more about Communism.  But since China is still officially a Communist country (except when it comes to making the most corrupt group of politicians anywhere on Earth rich), my beef will be directed towards these fuckers.  The beef I have with China, and Communism, is how they make ppl lose all accountability and pride in anything that isn't theirs.  It explains why Chinese immigrants here spit everywhere... throw their trash everywhere...  push and elbow their way into trains before anyone has even exited...  exit through subway emergency exits even if they can exit through the turnstiles...  drive reckless...  etc... etc... etc...  No matter what kind of utopia the creators of Communism thought they were creating, when a person has no sense of ownership, no sense that they have control over their own destiny, when they live in a climate where one aspect of their life is completely oppressive, while other aspects are uncontrolled and ungoverened.

I take the subway to Chinatown often.  And every time I get to the station, I know I will be elbowing and knocking over little old ladies and little old men cuz all they care about is beating out the next guy for a seat.  Almost every time I take the subway to Chinatown, I know I'm going to be screaming at some little old lady or little old man to let me off.  I've seen a grown fobby man rush in, elbow ppl out of the way, and then steal a seat from an elderly woman who was literally about to sit down without batting an eyelash.  Even worse, he seemed proud of himself that he was able to get a seat.  Ughhhhhh...

The next time one of these ppl push me to get on the train, I'm going to grab them, and hold them in the station until the train leaves just so that they miss their train.  And then I'll berate them in English.

And of course, there's the whole unregulated capitalistic economy.  They're more fucking capitalistic than we are!  If it suits their needs, they're communists.  If it makes their pockets fatter, they're capitalists. Ugh.  Even scarier is that they used to need the US to make money, but don't anymore.  Because we're a bunch of retards, and they're flourishing exponentially, there really isn't anyone putting any pressure on their horrendous human rights record.  We used to be able to put some kind of pressure on them, even if it was pretty useless.  Now it is entirely useless since we have zero leverage.

On a much lighter note...  has anyone seen the trailer for this new movie Push?

Is it me or is Push the movie adaptation of Heroes?

You should have left the last part in a different entry.   When it comes to getting off the train at Chinatown, I've learned to lower my shoulders and just start walking....little, old people be damned!    There have been a number of occasions where I've had a seat and then after Canal or Grand St, I see an old Chinese couple get on and have to stand.  So I get up and offer my seat to the woman and she, in turn, give it to the old man.  WTF?  I feel like saying, "nigga, please!  Get the fuck up and let the old lady sit!"  *sigh*

every man for himself. combine that with the fact that chinese people are the cheapest people on earth and will cut any and all corners possible to save a buck- the prospect of China taking the lead in this world is a scary one.

don't think of it as a chinese thing. think of it as a humanity thing. the example of the chinese shows you how humans can be and are.

i really hope that you aren't seriously considering these mere faults to be the reasoning for your hatred of your own people.

its really petty.

have you ever thought about why chinese people are the way they are...have you ever considered the history of communist china? yes it isn't all sunshine and rainbows...but that's usually what revolutions are. China had to be communist in order to save its own people! China couldn't be a socialist country like the united states...because the majority of the chinese people are poor and uneducated and living in unbelievably poor conditions. Yeah, the government is strict and communist, but have you ever considered if all "uneducated" people protested against the chinese government, China today, would STILL be in civil war. China is a work in progress...its a third world country. forgive the spitting and the small uneducated actions of those who newly immigrated here. they do not represent even a small fraction of actual China.

rather...what can we as the selected, lucky (educated) can do to help improve the conditions for our home country. I love china. I may not agree with everything that is going on in china...i may not be a specialist on the history of china...but i'm definitely not hating on my own people.

sorry its a long response. i had to speak my mind.

@LilSaintApple -

You completely missed my point if you think my blog is about me hating "my people."
