I wish I could be a phantom player

Even with the cap room, I don't think anyone of Lebron's caliber is coming. No one of his caliber ever has. First it was Kobe, then it was Garnett, but the NBA isn't like MLB and the Knicks can't just sign a megastar like they're the Yankees. The best we can hope for is to sign an all-star type player (like Michael Redd or Amare if they opt out) but not a franchise changing guy like Lebron or Kobe.

We should rebuild through the draft and trades like Portland. Their 1-10 guys are all good, young, and have attractive contracts.

And I don't want Amare. There's all this news coming out of Phoenix about him. If Nash doesn't get him involved early in a game, he gives up for the entire game. All the players hate him for it. He doesn't just give up trying to score, he gives up trying to defend and rebound, too. That's one big reason Phoenix is trying to shop him.

The only way for the Knicks to rebuild through the draft is if they trade away everyone worth anything (Lee, Robinson, Chandler) and completely tank this season and try to pick up that Blake guy. Is there anyone on Portland that is as good as our 3 most coveted guys that they'd be willing to trade for? We're basically fucked. There's no way anyone's going to take on Curry or Jeffries. What's the free agent class of 2011 look like? haha
